It’s hard to take a bad photo of Royal Chundu and its surrounds, our guest, Tara Turkington, whose images we feature here, told us after her time at the lodge. While we agree, of course, we think it also has a lot to do with Tara’s ability to see the beauty in the details, the magic of nature in things big and small.

It’s hard not to see nature as something beautiful, to be appreciated and honoured, when you have a sense of wonder and it is with this sense that Tara captured a few of our favourite birds on the Zambezi, from the rock pratincoles to the African skimmers, with the backdrop of the changing colours of the river from sunrise to set.

Take a look below at just why we fall in love with this river, day after day.
