We’re thrilled (but not yet smiled-out) over our win at the World Travel Awards this year – as we took the title, Zambia’s Leading Safari Lodge for the fifth year running.
As lovely as they are, it is not for trophies such as this that we do what we do. It is not for the money, for there are surely easier ways to acquire such means. It is for the difference we make in the community in which we live. It is for the people whose lives we affect and who affect us each day on our riverbank… The people of Royal Chundu.
Meet Sungani
Our Executive Chef and Food & Beverage Manager, Sungani Phiri knows intimately the legacy we’re working to achieve. We sought Sungani out to share just a few impromptu words with you in this short vlog…
Thank you to all who took the time to vote for us but also to the greater Royal Chundu tribe, led by the Mother of our lodge, Tina Aponte. Discover more from Sungani…
And in closing… what makes Royal Chundu special? What drives us?
The World Travel Awards serve to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry. We celebrated both the win and #theroyalchunduexperience with a special boma dinner for our staff – a first for many of the team, complete with a rare makishi dance performance.
