There have been so many moments in the last year that stand out.

Some of them are simple words sent to us by guests who have returned home – a poem written in a card or an expression of gratitude on Instagram. Some of them are landmark occasions that will forever change they way we think of the Zambezi. Building our treehouse on the edge of this great river and dangling centimetres over it in our new tree swing – these are whole new ways of experiencing the Zambezi.

Other special experiences have been watching our lodge family grow closer, watching the knowledge moving between individuals grow and grow; seeing our relationships with local communities settle into some of the finest friendships we have; and watching our celebration of the Year of the Bird take flight.

We’ve given new life to our Zambian tasting menu and to the walls that keep us together. We’ve watched our school children grow like the plants of our veggie garden and become more animated, like the busy bees in our hive.

We’ve seen great turnings in the wheels of the world this year and our remote retreat has continued to remind us of the good in the world, the good in people. It has continued to give us and our guests a place to come together in the name of love and adventure.

It is with these moments in mind that we celebrate our nomination in the 25th annual World Travel Awards – as Zambia’s Leading Safari Lodge 2018. We’d so love if you would once again come together to help us share this title with our team for another year.
