“Some things scratch the surface while others strike at your soul.”
― Gianna Perada
There is nothing as exciting as the moment an epiphany strikes. Suddenly, all is clear. Obvious. The answer to questions you didn’t know you harboured appear and refuse to be silenced.
Since I learned the word “epiphany” – as a very raw and innocent fifteen year old – I have held it, the word, and the act, the shock and power of it, in great esteem. Life is a series of epiphanies leading us on the path to self-realisation and ultimately contentment. Peace. Joy.
But it’s easy to forget the revelations that consumed us at one time. We need to be on constant watch. Check in. Rest, reflect, reconnect and replenish. To continue the search inward as new pressures arise. That is the hope we have for our 4-night Soulful River Retreat from 18-22 February next year – a getaway for seekers, whether new, lapsed or accomplished; a yoga and mindfulness celebration on the Zambezi river providing fresh air, tranquility and warm personalised attention in a supportive environment away from the stresses of modern life.
“Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and sometimes even travel around the world looking for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it. You must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness forever, to stay afloat on top of it.”
